No photoColor “Black”Listed for sale, no image. Critical: shoppers buy blind.
Your catalog, fanned out by what's broken.
Asset Audit checks every Shopify product's photos for missing shots, color variants with no image, mismatched crops and SEO gaps. Then it ranks them, so you fix the ones costing sales first.
Scan your store free
Put your own products in this fan. Takes about five seconds.
It looks at the photos, not just the file names.
Image SEO apps rename files and write alt text. Asset Audit reads each gallery the way a shopper does, with AI vision, and knows what a complete gallery looks like for that kind of product.
A complete gallery depends on what you sell.
The audit carries a coverage template for each category. A shoe without a sole shot gets flagged. A T-shirt that only differs by size doesn't.

Severity, so you know where to start.
Every product gets one severity and three scores: Asset Coverage, Variant Integrity and SEO Accessibility. Sort by severity and work down.
- A color you sell has no photo
- Wrong photo on a variant
- Different colors share one gallery
- No usable main image
- Missing back, side or detail shot
- No on-model shot for fit-driven products
- Category shots missing (sole, inside, scale)
- Backgrounds or lighting drift within a gallery
- Mixed crops and aspect ratios
- Near-duplicates, weak gallery order
- Text burned into images
- Missing or weak alt text
- Filenames like IMG_2041.jpg
- One slightly redundant shot
SEO problems are always reported but never push a product above Low. Size-only variants that look identical aren't flagged.
Install, run, fix the red ones.
It lives inside your Shopify admin. No setup, no prompts, no spreadsheet exports.

Critical first. Open a product to see each issue and the shots it's missing.

Reshoot, relink or reorder, then audit again to confirm it's clean.
Read-only. The app asks only for permission to read products. It never edits products, themes or settings, and stores no customer data.
Why product photos matter
In testing, 56% of shoppers' first move on a product page was to start going through the images.Baymard Institute, large-scale usability testing · source
When the color they picked has no photo, or the back is never shown, the question goes unanswered and the tab gets closed.
Most catalogs grow one upload at a time, by different people, over years. Nobody sees the whole thing at once. That's the job.

Questions merchants ask first.
Will it change anything in my store?
No. Asset Audit requests read access to products only. It never edits products, images, themes or settings. You make the fixes, in Shopify, the way you normally would.
What's the difference between the free scan and the app?
The free scan reads your public catalog and checks structure: how many photos each product has, color variants with no photo, mixed crops, low resolution, generic filenames and a sample of alt text. The app adds AI vision on the photos themselves: background and lighting drift, which angles are present, and which shots each category is missing.
Does the free scan send my data anywhere?
It runs in your browser against the same public product feed any visitor to your store can load. Results aren't sent to us or stored. We count that a scan happened, not what it found.
My store is password-protected. Can I still use it?
The free scan can't read a locked storefront, but the app can. It audits from inside your admin, so it works before launch too.
Do my variants need their own photos?
Only when they look different. A color or finish with no photo is critical: the shopper picks it and sees something else. Sizes that look identical can share images, and the audit won't flag them.
What does it cost?
$20 a month for 100 products, or the same plan for $200 a year. Billing runs through Shopify, so it shows up on your Shopify invoice and you cancel from your admin.
See the whole catalog at once.
Find the color with no photo, the bag with no back view and the hero shot on the wrong background before your shoppers do.
